Introducing Urban Permaculture Planters

Images

An unusual event in central California -- the deconstruction of a massive cattle feed lot -- provides the opportunity to make sturdy, functional, beautiful planters that are ideal for creating your own urban permaculture oasis. Reclaimed fiberglass troughs from the feed lot have been repurposed to provide a large planting environment that is 12" deep at the center, 15 1/2" wide across the top, and 92" in length for the 9' planter (and 47 1/2" for the 4' planter). Reclaimed bolts, nuts, and washers are used throughout.

Specifically designed with a no-kneeling planting height to help avoid gardening backache.

Plentiful in 9' lengths; limited supply in 4' lengths.

Plants, potting soil, drainage rocks not included.

Introducing California Ranch Wood and Barn Wood

Images

We are very pleased to introduce our paneling and siding milled from beautiful weathered wood rescued from ranches and barns located in California's central valley and Sierra foothills.

Wind, sun, rain, and time have collaborated to create unique surfaces for every piece.  Humans have added nail holes and other character marks. California Ranch Wood is predominantly Douglas Fir, but you may find some Redwood intermingled with the Doug Fir.  California Barn Wood is a mixture of Redwood and Douglas Fir.

Our Reclaimed Redwood Paneling at Sam's Chowder House

"Dress up you plain-Jane walls with stylish trim that also guards against scuffs and scratches. This Old House helps you get the look you want at a price you can afford".

Our Reclaimed Redwood Double Bead Paneling 5" is one of the least expensive solutions discussed in the article. Although the article misstates the thickness of our paneling -- it's 5/16" thick, not 3/32" -- we're very happy to be selected for the lengthy and informative article.
